CLEANSING DEVICE | FOREO & MEEJEE

Posted on

Hi guys! It’s Ayu here. How are you doing? I have been planning to write this review but unfortunately don’t have the time yet.

Today, I want to talk about cleansing devices from two different brands. One is from Foreo and the other one is from Meejee*. The Foreo one is Putri’s and the Meejee is mine. She got it a birthday present last year, and I got it for an exchange with an honest review. I still paid the shipping fee, but the device is free of charge.

MEEJEE CLEANSING DEVICE

Meejee currently only has one product, which is the cleansing device. The brand is based in the US but they do ship internationally. This device is a facial cleansing massager that uses sonic pulses and thousands of soft silicone bristles that reach deep into the pores to remove acne-causing impurities, soften skin, and reduce signs of aging. It has two sides with a different functions. The one with the bristle is for cleansing and the other side is for massaging the skin.

They claimed that Meejee’s high-frequency sonic pulses reach deep into pores to break up and lift out all of the dirt, oil, makeup, and other gunk that cannot be done using hands. It has ultra soft silicone that is gentle and non-abrasive, suited for every skin type. They use antimicrobial silicone, so it naturally resists the buildup of bacteria. Meejee said that it is also BPA-free, ethically sourced, vegan, and cruelty-free. This device is also waterproof, so it’s okay to use it in the shower.

How to use it? First, apply a generous amount of cleanser to the bristles and run under warm water. Then press the centre button to activate the device. Use plus/minus buttons to adjust massage intensity cleanse & massage. Cleanse in small circular motions for 1 minute on each side of your face. Flip the device over for a massage. Rinse and repeat.

FOREO LUNA MINI 2

Foreo has several type of cleansing device and this one is the mini one from the OG version.

The LUNA™ mini 2 marks a radical new approach to skincare by being the only facial-cleansing device that combines T-Sonic™ pulsations to effectively cleanse the skin with a nonabrasive silicone brush that remains totally gentle and pleasant to use on the face. And with its smart design, this compact, colourful, and travel-friendly device lasts up to five months from one full charge and is fully waterproof for seamless integration into any skincare routine. The cleansing device deeply cleanses with up to 8,000 T-Sonic pulsations per minute channelled through silicone touch-points for refined, clear, and purified skin.

Foreo Luna Mini 2 main feature is the T-Sonic™ Power, a deeper cleanse as 8,000 T-Sonic™ pulsations per minute wash away 99.5% of dirt, oil, sweat and dead skin cells. LUNA mini 2’s soft silicone touchpoints were designed to be extra-gentle on the skin and it’s naturally resistant to bacteria – up to 35x more hygienic than cleansing brushes with nylon bristles. It has 8 different intensities to choose from.

How to use it? It’s the same with Meejee one. But this one has a timer and light signal to tell us when 1 minute is done.

MY THOUGHTS

They are very similar in some ways but has some differences that might be preferable for some people. I’m going to break it down to several points.

Design.

They both have different yet similar shape. Meejee has sharper and longer shape while foreo is smaller and rounder. Both are great for great size for traveling and reaching parts of my face. But I personally like Meejee better cause it has sharper edge. The other differences is the back side of the device. Foreo has bristle (different size from the front one) and Meejee has plain back with a curve for massaging. I usually use the backside of Meeje to massage my face while using sheetmask.

Silicone brushes.

Both have gentle and soft silicone brushes. I had no problems at all with both of their brushes. They both non-abrasive and cleanses my face very well.

Pulsation.

The lowest setting on Meejee is approximately the same as the third speed on Foreo. Meejee is stronger in vibration so I prefer not to use it everyday. The Foreo pulsation is more gentle and has more variation.

Cleansing power.

I feel both of them have the same deep cleansing effect. My skin feels very soft and cleansed through everytime I use cleansing device.

Battery.

We use Foreo since June 2019 and we haven’t charged it since. As Meejee, I only got it on December 2019 but I haven’t charged it too. So, I think both of them have quite great battery life and we don’t need to worry about it.

Price.

They both have really different prices. Meeje is sold for 80 USD and Foreo Luna Mini 2 is around 120 USD.

In inclusion, I think they both have their one characteristic and might be more preferable to some people. For me, they both worth it for their prices. If you’re looking for a budget good cleansing device, Meejee is for you. But if you had more on your budget and have very sensitive skin, I recommend getting the Foreo one. For now, I use them both on different times. When I needed a very deep cleanse, and my skin relatively in normal condition, I would use Meejee. But when I want a gentle and in a more sensitive skin condition, I would use the Foreo one.

Do you use cleansing device? I think they are worth to try, especially for people who like to saves time cleansing their skin.

Thanks for reading! See you! XOXO
